CSA ADD-ON OPTIONS
Grass-fed beef
from HANAPPE RANCH
The fabulous farmers (and Spring Wind CSA members) Kerry Hanifl and Gregg Rappe at Hanappe Ranch raise 100% grass-fed beef just up the road on Hwy 3. We admire their farming practices--certified organic land and animals, rotational grazing, attentive care to animal welfare--plus we can attest to the quality of their delicious Black Angus beef, which is currently in our chest freezer!
Pantry Staples
from THE PERENNIAL SHARE
Do you want to eat cleaner grains AND transform our agricultural system? Good news for you: this tasty revolution is happening right here in our community, at Perennial Pantry, an innovative local business started by Spring Wind CSA member Christopher Abbott. Sign up for a Perennial Share and pick up a monthly box (here on the farm) with inventive, clean, delicious food products for your pantry--created with soil-enhancing perennial ingredients like Kernza. We have a Perennial Share ourselves, and we love the new twists on staples like pasta or pancake mix, which are way more flavorful with regenerative ingredients (and still 100% kid-endorsed in our household)! The more we can collectively grow markets for products like these, the more incentive for farmers to replace our current commodity crops with perennial, regenerative, water-cleaning alternatives.
